Foster care for North Bay Beagles

Foster Care for North Bay Beagles

We welcome foster families to provide our beagles with a loving, dog friendly home where they will be nurtured and cared for on a temporary basis until a permanent adoptive home is available. During the time with our foster families, the dogs are provided with food, socialization, appropriate exercise, medical care and lots of love. Medical care is arranged and paid for by Rescue for North Bay Beagles. All our dogs are required to be spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, fecal tested for giardia, heartworm tested and on heartworm and flea preventative, so there will be routine medical visits to take the dog to.   It may be necessary for a volunteer foster family to administer medications, flea treatments and/or special diets.

The period of time a dog is in a foster home may vary. Some young beagles may be placed quickly so it could be just days or weeks. Some dogs may need to recuperate from stressful situations they may have been subjected to, or may need to undergo vet visits and prolonged treatment which could take longer.

Foster homes are essential to having a successful adoption. These foster families will have first hand experience with the dogs which will help determine its needs and temperament. This will contribute to placing the dog with the appropriate forever adoptive family.

To provide foster care, please submit the foster application by completing the form and pressing the “submit” button. If computer access is unavailable, a hard copy of the application can be mailed. Please contact us by phone to request this.   Once the application is reviewed, a home visit will be scheduled so that questions can be answered and arrangements made.
